JBS (a meatpacking company) and Colonial Pipeline made headlines in May of 2021 by being the victims of sophisticated cyberattacks. Both companies were severely impacted by the hack to the point of shutting down their operations. JBS even paid a ransom of $11 million (yes you read that right) to the nefarious hackers.
